The first runner-up, crowned Miss Ecuador Mundo 2011, is María Verónica Vargas Granja (21, 1.75m, Guayas) and she will go to Miss World 2011 next December (photo above, left).
Claudia Schiess Fretz, Miss Galapagos, was crowned Miss Ecuador 2011 in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas on March 17th. Claudia is 20 year old and stands 1.73 m. She will represent Ecuador at the Miss Universe 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in September. She also won the awards of Most Beautiful Face and Most Beautiful Hair.
Claudia, a student of Commercial Engineering, is fluent in Spanish, English and German; she is also a professional make-up artist and professional dancer, as well as her work as a print and runway model.
Claudia represented Ecuador in the Miss Supranational 2010 contest in Poland.
Maria Veronica Vargas was elected Miss Ecuador World, and also won the Miss Photogenic award. She will compete in the 2011 Miss World pageant to be held in December.
Maria Fernanda Cornejo was elected Miss Ecuador International and will participate in the Miss International 2011 pageant to take place in China in October.
Olga Alava and Leslie Ayala completed the Top 5 finalists. 19 beauties competed in the annual contest, which had the presence of Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez.
